Well I keep saying that I am going to create a blog and here I am. I am hoping to cover 2 different things in my blog - my new found life in the US (or attempts at one, more on that later) and my knitting which those of you that know me will know takes up a vast amount of my time.
Today really isn't a day to talk about NY. The weather is overcast, the view from my window is mostly foggy/cloudy and I haven't left the flat all day. So instead, over to knitting.
I am still battling with the double sided knitting for Jacqui's scarf. Jacqui is on holiday this week and next but turned 30 yesterday. I know that she thinks that I have probably forgotten but instead I have this on the needles for her:

I am hoping that she will like the colours as I am not certain that they are Jacqui colours. On the other hand I think that they are so pretty that one couldn't not like them. And I showed the scarf to Sharon, one of our mutual friends, and she thought that Jacqui would be happy - so fingers crossed and all that.
I am also in the process of finishing 'Palm' aka 'The moss stitch monster' for my mother. I only have the top of one sleeve to finish so I am gradually getting there. This is really important as my mother is graduating on the 10th of June from Harvard and I really want to give this to her as a gift. She thinks that she might get it for Xmas if she is lucky... So this should be a surprise. Especially as I keep telling her that I still have loads to do :-)
Also on the needles: Fiona, a knitalong being run by Kristine from Knit Happens. I have cast on the bottom but that's it. I really want to 'knit along' but really need to get Jacqui's scarf done and my mother's cardigan done too. Then Fiona will get some real attention. I hope.
