Today I sent off my membership form to the Debbie Bliss club. I saw the beret and cravat that make up the kit at Ally Pally and I thought that they were lovely. The fact that they were made from alpaca silk only made them nicer. There was even a young fashion student there who wanted to buy the beret and I spent half an hour trying to convince the poor girl that she should take up knitting. She declined but I decided that I liked her nevertheless when she said that she thought that I was 26.
I like that idea.
I have finished the scarf in the Debbie Bliss Cashmerino Aran - but no picture today as I haven't sewn in the ends yet... I will put a picture up tomorrow hopefully, once it is blocked and looking all Cristmas-gifty.
Oh, and I thought that I had posted about this yarn but I can't seem to find any mention of it my archive, so I guess I didn't. When I was in the US for the last time, the lovely Wendy gave me some of this:

It's beautiful. It the Filature Di Crosa Millefili Fine. It shines. Really shines. It is just the softest, silkiest yarn I have come across in a long time and I have completely fallen in love with it. I have some in a lovely chocolate brown and some in a variegated colour with brown, rust, cream, beige and grey. I don't know what I am going to knit with it yet. I have visions of a slim fitting jumper of some kind in the chocolate with the cuffs, bottom and neck in the variegated yarn. Doesn't that sound gorgeous? Although there is a pretty pattern for the yarn here - I could do that instead.
Not that I am running short of things to knit at the moment. I am trying not to buy any more yarn at the moment although someone mentioned that there was a yarn sale at one of my LYS soon so that intention may not last as long as I would like.
