I had forgotten how tiring this work malarkey was... I can barely stand today! The job is going well though, the team is friendly and I am gradually getting my head around it. I am going to try to keep updating Knitter Natter but please bear with me - I am hardly getting any knitting done at the moment.
I did cast on and swatch for the husband's sweater. I am using the Debbie Bliss cotton dk in navy blue.

So, who knows, he just might have a lovely sweater one of these days. Oh and there is a minor miracle going on - I have changed the way that I hold my yarn and I have got the correct tension on the correct needles. You could have knocked me over with a feather.
I have also made a lot of progress on Flighty, which isn't too hard seeing as it is quite a small item even if it is in 4-ply.

But please don't go saying that I don't like colour... Here's a snap of some colours from my stash that I was playing with the other day.

It's nice to know someone else who appreciates 4-ply yarn (since I seem to be surrounded by I-won't-touch-anything-smaller-than-a-4.0mm-needle crowd).
Posted by: Carol at February 25, 2005 12:35 AMYou definitely "have color"!! I love knitting with cotton.
Posted by: Maggie at February 19, 2005 04:17 PMi LOVE the color combination on flighty.
There's a picture of a knitted cake on my blog that you might like to see... they seem to be all the rage. There's also a picture of one on the back of the current issue of Rebecca magazine.
Posted by: Abbey at February 16, 2005 02:48 PMhas anyone ever told you that you look like a young julie andrews?
Posted by: D R E W at February 14, 2005 07:07 PMThat first week back does tend to knock you off the ballast doesnt it. I am hoping that will be next week for me :) Then we can go purchase yarn together!
As for the ends, why dont you twist the colors going up the sides?? If it is not knit in the round, and they are going to be seamed in... Then again I like weaving ends in, it is seaming I can't stand :)
And I throroughly approve of that orange tinge, springy weather or not if I had the dosh I'd be buying pumpkin cashemerino aran and busting out something :)
Posted by: stinkerbell at February 14, 2005 06:32 PMI tagged you! I couldn't find your email address at work. But check out my blog. Perhaps it's a bit of mindless posting while you adjust to the stresses o'working. So glad you are enjoying it!

Posted by: Adele at February 13, 2005 06:49 PMInterested to know how you have changed your knitting style to get the correct tension on the 'right' needles - what are you doing differently?
OK - that's colour - but when are we going to see you wearing the orange?
