Knitting with friends...

A lot of fun was had this weekend. As it was Miss Polly's birthday, we had a little get together at my house.

Polly decided to hide away behind the dishcloth. And would not be persuaded to come out.

Jacinta came along too.

Jacinta

She had bought some Cashmerino aran and was making a checkerboard scarf, no pattern! Clearly the influence of someone a bit gung-ho...

Someone such as the Alpaca Woman.

Sharon

Who was had just cast on Kiri for an excellent cause.

She's concentrating very hard because she's teaching herself to hold her yarn differently. And, as I well know, it's really hard to start holding your yarn/needles differently and takes quite a long time to get used to.

My neighbour Tanya also came and played with us.

Tanya

She's making Electra, the cover pattern, from Rowan 38. In lovely pinks and purples. But now she's gotten to the sewing in ends bit and I don't envy her in the slightest...

We went for a tour of Loop, the new London yarn store and then retired to a nearby wine bar to a raise a glass to Polly's health. Here we have Polly in the wine bar hiding again.

Polly

You may wonder what she is hiding behind? Well it was Jacinta's birthday present from Polly and I. We gave it to her a while back but it has taken me a while to get around to posting about it (Well her birthday was back in May).

Jacinta in Broadway

It's Broadway from the RY Classic book "Cafe". And it fits her really well so Polly and I are rather pleased.

Oh, I love the Mermaid pattern! It's gorgeous! Did you buy it in a kit? Where did you get it?

Congratulations on 100 posts Amelia. I really enjoy your blog so don't think about giving up.

Lovely to see Jacinta in her cardigan again - you and Polly did so well. And looks like a fun day was had by all at Polly's birthday too.

But best of all I am really pleased you have finally bought mermaid. You deserve it for more than just 100 posts!

Glasses of wine and whiskey cake? Gosh, it obviously has something going for it because you all look so happy. Did it do anything for the knitting?

Did someone say "whiskey cake"?? You are so fortunate to have so many great friends. Since moving here to a very French-speaking city, and not being able to parlez-vous myself, I miss my friendships so much that I had in Vancouver. Party on ladies!
