Peppermint treats

So, Jenny is finished and in my drawer waiting for her next opportunity. Oh and as an aside, can I thank Jacinta for giving me these really pretty charm labels for my birthday. And now that I have finally finished something, I got to use one.

Charm label

Here it is sewn on to Jenny. Isn't the label just adorable? I had some but mine were nowhere near as nice. Thank you Jacinta!

Of course, having finished one project the question was what to cast on next. OK so Fruity still isn't fully blocked and there are still a gazillion ends to sew in, but hey girls, I have empty needles and I feel that one should always try to avoid having too many needles out of service.

So I cast this.

Have you guessed what it is?

What if I show you the yarns needed?

Peppermint twist yarn

Full points to anyone jumping up and down in front of their computer shouting "Why it's a Peppermint Twist". Here's what she's meant to look like.

And here's the beginning of my front showing off in front of the real one.

The pattern is from the Stitch & Bitch book and was designed by none other than Becky from Fluffa! I fell in love with this pattern when I got the book as a present from Kristine last year and I immediately knew that I was going to have to knit it. The colours are gorgeous, the pattern is really pretty, and the main yarn used is Cotton glace, a personal favourite. The other yarn used is Phildar's Sunset, a yarn similar although thicker I think, to Rowan's Lurex. I got my mother to go and buy me some from her local Phildar shop in Montpellier. Merci Maman, j'apprecie vraiment beaucoup!

And now I am going to go and knit instead of talking about it. If it weren't for the Lurex yarn attempting to tangle itself around anything it can find, I'd say this is a near perfect project.

Hi Amelia,
the pattern for my cardigan was 'Barra' from Rowan Classic Winter. It's lovely and snug w/o being heavy. I have a peppermint twist on the needles too though mine is green mix and white!

Happy Knitting x

I love the PINK. It looks great. The only thing that kept me from knitting it, is that I didn't think I could find the Phildar yarn. Are you using the Phildar or the Rowan Lurex?

Really, really wonderful colours, Amelia, and I've blinked... and you've knitted a sleeve (I think)! Speedy knitter!

that lurex is a sociable yarn... loves to wrap itself around everything.

Gorgeous gorgeous colours Amelia ! I adore pink :0) A great pattern too - tho' not having the enviably slim figure of you and Becky I'm not sure it would suit me :0(

Love the labels too. I just ordered some labels for myself (having been nagged into it by my husband - goodness knows why ??) so I'm just waiting for the postman to do his stuff !

Just wanted to let you know it wasn't Maman who went to the Phildar shop, but Daddy!
