I just haven't been taking a lot of pictures.
Every week I start off thinking that I'll be really good, take loads of pictures and post loads on my blog and yet somehow that never happens. I also intend to answer loads of emails (Anna, I am sorry, I will answer your email, I promise) and that never seems to happen either.

At the end of my last post I said that the Phildar Lurex was wrapping itself around anything it could find. Well I wasn't exagerating, it really seems to act like a magnet to anything and as I am working with two balls, I am constantly having to untangle it. But there is one really good thing about it: it's a lot softer than the Rowan Lurex. Which means that I think that it won't be as scratchy by a long way.
That's good as I dislike scratchy yarn even more than I dislike high-acrylic content yarns.
Here's my artistic shot of the Pepptermint Twist.

So come on, all of you, on the above list or not, tell me what camera you use to take your pictures. I may be in the market for a new one some time soon and would love to know what you recommend or don't.
Posted by Amelia at September 18, 2005 08:27 PMPeppermint Twist looks yummy - having a little girl, we get a bit swamped with pink, but this just may reconvert me :-)
Posted by: Anne at September 24, 2005 06:50 PMCanon has really great customer service. I would recommend them entirely. However, I wouldn't discount Nikon. dpreview.com reviews all the cameras coming in so you may want to check that out.
I don't think it's so much the camera that makes the difference as it is the picture taker. Your last Peppermint Twist show was perfect!
Posted by: MJ at September 20, 2005 09:26 PMI've got a Canon PowerShot A80 digital camera http://www.canon.ca/english/index-products.asp?lng=en&prodid=526&sgid=23&gid=2&ovr=1&arch=1 and I just love it. I've had it for a year now and still haven't figured out all the bells and whistles...LOL. What type of camera are you using?
Your Peppermint Twist is looking fabulous!
Posted by: Maggie at September 20, 2005 01:41 PMLooking very good! I'm honored that you're knitting up this sweater, and in the colors. I hear you re the Sunset, though. It's so fiddly to knit with, but the results are pretty fab. I threw my sweater in the cold wash and it behaved well, too. (I guess it wants to make up for being so fiddly.)
P.S. Trivia: I had tested out the Rowan Lurex Shimmer but I couldn't find a color that matched the pinks I wanted to use.
Posted by: Becky at September 19, 2005 07:50 PMMy DH uses the following:
Fuji S2 Pro camera with a Nikon 70-210 f2.8 VR lens, also a Tokina 35-70 f2.8 Pro for the closer shots. Also he has a Nikon SB28 Flash gun (whatever that means?) The Nikon lens cost £1200 & the camera £800 (neither of which is fully paid for yet) - so how can he complain about my knitting?????
Mmm! Photos look great! I can't wait to see your finished sweater -- I've been eyeing the peppermint sweater ever since I bought the SnB book last year!
Posted by: Felicia from sweetgeorgia at September 19, 2005 06:37 PMWow, thanks for the compliment! I use the Canon Powershot S40, but its way old, like 4 years old, and desperately needs replacing. The Canon cameras are good though; I'll probably get another one.
PS. Love the artistic peppermint photo :-)
Posted by: Diana at September 19, 2005 06:29 PMOooh, I LOVE it!!!
Posted by: Andrea at September 19, 2005 06:10 PMI know I've said this already, but I'm really loving your Peppermint - pink is such an underrated colour! It's coming along beautifully (and I did your artistic shot!!) xx
Posted by: Anna at September 19, 2005 03:36 PMUnderestimating your talents as usual Amelia. I love your photographs especially these of Peppermint Twist. I really, really want to make it now!
