What's in the box

I seem to have forgotten to own up to what was in the box when I posted a picture of it a few weeks ago. So here goes.

Here's the first hint.

The box and tissue paper

Any of you who have had one of these arrive at home will recognise it instantaneously.

And then once you pull back the tissue paper there's this.

Rowan Wool cotton

10 balls of Rowan's Wool cotton in a shade called Grand.

It comes with the prettiest buttons too.

And here's what it's going to be knitted into.

Kim Hargreaves Sal

Sal from the 'New Beginnings' collection by Kim Hargreaves.

One day. Before that, there's a wedding shawl to be knitted for the bestest of friends, a leaf lace shawl for me in some Blue Sky Alpaca 'Alpaca silk' and so many pairs of socks to be finished it's not even funny. But I thought I'd whet your appetite.

And yes, there does seem to be rather a lot of lilac in my life at the moment (Dandelion is lilac too), especially for a colour that I wouldn't say I particularly like. Most odd really.

Oh and the only problem with all of the entry above is that what I actually want to buy and knit is this:

Kim Hargreaves Joy

Joy from Kim Hargreaves. I need a little summer cardigan in white to go over all the gorgeous Boden dress that I bought. You just can't win can you?

Oh I so want one of these boxes and actually Joy has always been on my wish list too.

I love Rowan wool cotton but have only used it for children's garments so far, in fact I am off to buy some now.

Love that dress - did you go for the green one? I have recently spent far too much in the Boden shop - and in Liberty! Those KH boxes are very tempting though.....

I've found I've got the same problem... When I get the yarn for something, I want to knit something else... Both cardigans are lovely though... You must be in agony!...

Oh wow! I want one of those, its like a box of chocolate, better than a box of chocolate. I am off to the KH website now. Keep up the excellent work.

Of course I recognised the box! I'm trying to keep clear of the KH site, but with this hot weekend, I fear my willpower is weakening for all things summery!

oh how desperately I want that sweater... I might just treat myself to that here soon... If I can get some projects finished and knit again :)

i love both sal and joy. There are so wearable, so chic! If I didn't feel so overwhelmed by the size of my stash I would had bought the joy kit last month, but at the moment, I'm only permitting myself to knit from stash until I feel that I have maintained some sense of control

Oh, you *must* have Joy to wear with that lovely dress! C'mon, let us Americans get our Kim Hargreaves through you. :)

The colour of the yarn looks gorgeous! I have not started my kit I bought yet but I can't wait!

It's clear to me that you need some JOY in your life ! Go for it - it's only money. And Sal will be waiting come the autumn .... or you could sew yourself a lilac summer dress to match ? :0)

You've inspired me btw. I'll be posting soon about a little summer sewing I've been doing !

Been dying to know what was in the box! Absolutely delightful, lovely colour, can't wait to see it knitted up! Lovely dress you've bought too, and Joy would be the perfect summer cardi to compliment it ! Impossible to have knitting doldrums when Kim Hargreaves comes to the rescue;-)

That kit is a lovely colour, the dress is very pretty, it needs a cardi though!
